Other Women's Organizations
In addition to the Status of Women Councils and the Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women, several other women�s organizations made contributions to the women�s movement in Newfoundland and Labrador in the 70s and 80s. For instance, the Women�s Institutes and the St. John�s Club of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) shared many of the same goals as the women�s organizations more formally linked to the Women�s Movement. On occasion, they also worked together on projects. For instance, in 1975 the CFUW and Women�s Institutes held a joint conference in Gander called �Women: Creative Leadership�. The Women�s Institutes and the Newfoundland Status of Women Council (later known as the St. John�s Status of Women Council) also worked together on a Women�s Health Education Project in the early 80s.
